Shopify first. Always.
Every external sale follows the same write order: Shopify, the source of truth, is adjusted first, then Ventorify's internal state, then every other channel.
So a failed write never leaves your stock split-brained. The next sync cycle simply retries.
The timings, in plain numbers.
How quickly sales are detected and stock is written back, channel by channel.
Amazon order notifications are polled about every 5 seconds.
eBay sales typically arrive in under 2 seconds, via eBay's notification API.
A stock change typically reaches eBay 1-3 seconds later.
Amazon typically applies updates within 1-5 minutes, paced by Amazon's API.
Behind the real-time path, safety-net polling and a full unified sync run every 15 minutes.
Self-repairing by design.
Reconciliation and deduplication keep the numbers true, across every location you stock.
Reconciled every 24 hours
Once every 24 hours, Ventorify re-checks its numbers against live Shopify and self-repairs any drift it finds, automatically.
Drift on one SKU, found overnight and repaired.
Every event, exactly once
Marketplaces sometimes redeliver the same event. Deduplication runs everywhere, so a redelivered order never adjusts your stock twice.
Every location, counted
Shopify multi-location is fully supported: available stock is summed across all your locations.
Mirroring, not splitting.
Stock is never partitioned across channels. Every channel sees your full available stock minus the buffer, capped by an optional per-channel max.
Listing on another channel never makes the others look emptier.
Three channels, one status model.
- Shopify is always the single source of truth. Every external sale adjusts Shopify first.
- Amazon FBM stock syncs in near real time. FBA quantities are displayed alongside, never overwritten.
- eBay sales are detected in seconds via eBay's notification API, on all eBay marketplaces.
Every connection is in exactly one of four states, and you can pause any channel at any time. Pausing pushes zero stock to that channel, so nothing sells while it is paused.
Common questions
What happens when a write to a channel fails?
Nothing splits. The write order is always Shopify first, then Ventorify's internal state, then the other channels, so a failed write never leaves stock split-brained. The next sync cycle retries, and safety-net polling plus a full unified sync run every 15 minutes behind the real-time path.
Can a redelivered marketplace event adjust stock twice?
No. Deduplication runs everywhere: every marketplace event is processed exactly once, even when the marketplace redelivers it.
What does pausing a channel do?
You can pause any channel at any time. Pausing pushes zero stock to that channel, so nothing sells there while it is paused.
How does Ventorify catch drift?
Every 24 hours Ventorify re-checks its numbers against live Shopify and self-repairs any drift it finds, automatically.
